Stephanie is the Executive Director at The Gardens of Riverside and Earned the CALA Advocate of the Year Award for 2018 and 2019
Never before has CALA awarded this honor to the same recipient two years in a row!
The CALA award details can be found on their website and takes into account what the recipient does throughout the year to work with and educate on assisted living. Such as inviting, educating and assisting local legislators with their campaigns and projects they have going on in the community. And of course, sending pictures and outcomes to CALA.
They also request details on what they do in the community for the community, such as the dementia friendly training for restaurants in the Riverside and surrounding areas. Stephanie conducted the “Purple Cities Alliance” training through the mayor’s office of Riverside. Stephanie would go almost every other Saturday at 8am and do a 30-45 min training with restaurant staff on how to assist customers who may have dementia and their caregivers. In 2019, she was given the Certificate of Recognition from the City of Riverside Mayors office, for extraordinary service, dedication and commitment to the community and beyond.
She also attended Day in the District for Sacramento and Riverside. She visited senators with her team members and residents to discuss memory care in assisted living communities and how our seniors benefit from assisted living. Along with explaining the difference between Skilled Nursing Facilities and assisted living communities.
